Peter Greene, the
American character actor widely known for his roles in The Mask and Pulp
Fiction, has been found dead at the age of 60 inside his apartment in New York
City.
Greene was discovered
unresponsive in his Lower East Side residence following a welfare check on
Friday. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities have
confirmed that no foul play is suspected, while the official cause of death is
pending the outcome of an autopsy.
The actor’s longtime manager
confirmed the death, describing Greene as a deeply talented performer whose
intense on-screen persona often masked a warm and compassionate personality off
camera.
Born in Montclair, New Jersey,
Greene rose to prominence in the early 1990s with his breakout performance in
Clean, Shaven (1993). He later gained global recognition portraying the villain
Dorian Tyrell opposite Jim Carrey in The Mask (1994) and Zed, the disturbing
antagonist in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction the same year.
Over a career spanning more than
three decades, Greene appeared in numerous films and television projects,
including The Usual Suspects, Training Day, Blue Streak, Under Siege 2 and
several acclaimed TV series. He became known for his ability to bring depth and
realism to complex, often menacing characters.
Friends say Greene had been
planning future film projects and remained passionate about acting until his
final days.
Tributes have since poured in

lasting contribution to Hollywood cinema.
