The Akume Dajoh family has
announced the marriage of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation
(SGF), Senator George Akume, to his new wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George
Akume Dajoh.
The announcement was made on
Friday via a Facebook post by Abraham Double-D Dajoh, who conveyed the family’s
joy at the union.
“We, the entire Dajoh family,
happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, the Secretary to the
Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his
new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into the Dajoh
family,” the statement read.
The family also expressed
gratitude to Senator Akume’s supporters and urged them to continue standing by
him. They concluded with goodwill messages for the Christmas season and the New
Year.
In the post, the family formally
welcomed the bride to Benue State, described as the “Food Basket of the
Nation,” to Mbakor, regarded as the seat of leadership of the Tiv nation, and
to the Dajoh family, which they called “the home of your darling husband.”
“Welcome home, Queen Zaynab,” the
message added.

Queen Zaynab was previously
married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Their traditional
wedding took place on March 12, 2016, in Benin City, Edo State, followed by a
thanksgiving service and reception on March 13, 2016, at the Royal Court of Ife
in Osun State. After the marriage, she was known as Olori Wuraola.
On August 30, 2017, she publicly
confirmed the end of the marriage via her Instagram account, stating that the
union had lasted about 17 months. She dismissed rumours of infidelity and
infertility, describing them as false, and said she would continue her
humanitarian work with the United Nations.
Following the separation, she
reverted to her maiden name, Zaynab Otiti Obanor, and relocated to Doha, Qatar.
Before emerging as Senator Akume’s new bride, reports had also linked her to a
wealthy Arab prince, with whom she is said to have welcomed a daughter in 2022.
