The say history isn’t written by
who is right or who is wrong, but who lived it through. So was the sudden death
of nationalist and presidential candidate of the historic June 12, 1993
elections, MKO Abiola. The news of his death was announced on NTA by a veteran
newscaster, Eugenia Abu, on July 7,1998.
One of the Twin daughters of
Eugine, Oiza Meyi, who was yet unborn at the time, sourced and got the video
and posted it on her Twitter account and wrote:
So I found a video of my mum
reading the news in 1998 while she was pregnant for me and oiza. She told me
this was one of her saddest days of being a broadcaster cause she had to tell
the whole of Nigeria that MKO Abiola had died .
