Today, the 14th of June, 2024, the National President of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria (PMAN), *Mr. Pretty Okafor,* graciously welcomed the Canadian Ambassador, *His Excellency James Christoff*, and his esteemed delegation to the prestigious PMAN Music House, located at 4B Hammed Kasumu Street, Chevy View Estate. The delegation included Senior Trade Commissioner *Dindembolo-Zaya Kuyena,* Trade Commissioner *Temitayo Dada,* and *Mr. Mykel Parish,* the Owner of Nollywood Travel Film Festival, along with his team. 

 Other notable attendees were *Christopher Ozoemena,* *Calista Okonronkwo,* *Oluwafemi Olamilekan Sodimu (DJ Boombastic),* and *Akinpelu Gboyega Sotunde (Alias: Kriskros).* The central topic of discussion during this momentous meeting was the highly anticipated Afrobeats and Nollywood Awards, co-founded by Mykel Parish & Pretty Okafor. 

The Afrobeats and Nollywood Awards are envisioned as a grand platform designed to celebrate and honor the exceptional excellence and boundless creativity within the Afrobeats music and Nollywood film industries. These awards are poised to recognize and reward the outstanding achievements of artists, actors, directors, producers, and other creative individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of these dynamic and influential industries.

Canada has been selected as the distinguished host country for this landmark event.

 The awards ceremony will be a grand celebration of African music and Nollywood films, bringing together a diverse and illustrious gathering of music artists, filmmakers, industry professionals, and enthusiastic fans. 

This occasion will not only honor but also showcase the very best of African talent on an international stage.

Mr. Pretty Okafor expressed his profound excitement and optimism about the awards, stating, "This event will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of African creativity and excellence, highlighting the incredible contributions of our artists and filmmakers to the global entertainment landscape."
