On Friday, May 17 ,2024 the President of the Artiste Managers Association in Nigerian (AMAN), affectionately known as   AMAN president : Collins Ifeanyi Onwuneme Ajereh Enebeli a.k.a. Mavin Grandpa alongside the AMAN global spokesperson: Karifest Duchess Onyekaah Esq. and over 40 members of the association, paid a momentous courtesy call to the President of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Mr. Pretty Okafor, at the PMAN Headquarters - Nigerian Music House Chevy Estate, Lekki, Lagos.


The meeting, which was a significant convergence of the past and present leadership in Nigerian music, saw the AMAN President recount the fascinating journey of AMAN's formation over two decades ago. He emphasized the critical and strategic role PMAN played in midwifing the association, highlighting the mutual support that has been pivotal to their shared history.



In a nostalgic reflection, the AMAN President also acknowledged the pioneering efforts of the current PMAN President and his partner, when they were known as Junior and Pretty. This duo was instrumental in laying the foundations of what has now become the globally celebrated genre, Afrobeats then Afro-Hiphop. Their contributions have not only shaped the Nigerian music landscape but have also propelled it onto the world stage.



Mr. Pretty Okafor, in his response, expressed his gratitude to AMAN for the recognition and the visit. He pledged PMAN's ongoing commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship with AMAN, emphasizing the importance of unity in the growth and global influence of Nigerian music. He also encouraged the visiting members, highlighting the significance of their presence as an inspiration to the up-and-coming acts within the music industry.


AMAN global spokesperson: Karifest Duchess Onyekaah Esq. also took the stage to thank the PMAN President for hosting the visit. She remarked on the motivational impact the visit would have on the numerous aspiring musicians & artiste managers in attendance. Her words underscored the importance of such interactions in nurturing the next generation of musical talents.


The event concluded with an official tour of the PMAN House. The visitors were given an inside look at the facilities which housed the PMAN Fm, a Radio station for musicians waiting to take off, which serve as the nerve center for PMAN's operations and initiatives. The tour provided a deeper understanding of the resources and support systems available to Nigerian musicians.
