The Nigerian Army has arrested suspected suppliers to the insurgent group Boko Haram and recovered weapons and other equipment during operations in Adamawa State as part of ongoing counter‑terrorism efforts in the North‑East.
According to the Army, a 28‑year-old man, Ismail Muhammed, was apprehended in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area. Troops recovered an AK‑47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and food supplies believed to be destined for Boko Haram fighters.
In a separate operation, 64‑year-old Dauda Usman Gubula was arrested for allegedly supplying drones and other technological equipment to the insurgents. Military personnel recovered two aerial drones and several solar power banks, items thought to support Boko Haram’s operations.
The Nigerian Army described these arrests as part of “sustained efforts to disrupt Boko Haram supply lines, restore security, and protect communities” in the region. In addition to the arrests, troops reportedly neutralized a suspected Boko Haram commander near the Visik River line in Madagali Local Government Area, seizing an AK‑47 rifle with a loaded magazine.
Authorities emphasized that these actions are critical in weakening the logistical and operational capabilities of Boko Haram, reducing the group’s ability to carry out attacks on civilians and security forces. The Army continues to urge local communities to provide information that can aid in ongoing counter‑terrorism operations.
